“The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports” came to Butler County as senior residents at Traditions of West Chester raced down the track as jockeys on inflatable horses and an inflatable track in a fun and exciting preview of the Kentucky Derby, happening this weekend. Just as in Louisville, winners will receive red roses to celebrate the glory of victory.
Betting stands opened, and residents, staff members and guests placed their bets (don’t worry, it’s all with toy money) to cheer on their favorite inflatable-mounted jockeys.
Fun, with Healthy Benefits
Fun, play and exercise are important to help people stay young as they age. Traditions of West Chester helps residents to keep moving with activities like the “Run for the Roses” because of its health benefits. An active lifestyle as we age has been shown to make older adults less likely to develop certain diseases, have a longer lifespan, enjoy more happiness and be less depressed, and increase resilience and coping ability. An active lifestyle may also help older adults to improve their thinking abilities.
Traditions of West Chester offers assisted living and memory care residences in West Chester Township, Ohio, and is part of the larger network of 23 Traditions Senior Living Communities in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky and Florida.
